I am more through Jesus Christ!

I want people to succeed in life. I would be overjoyed if every person who stepped into my church would receive Christ and live out the life in abundance that he has promised for them (John 10:10). I could only imagine a community where there were no marriage problems, no financial woes, no interpersonal problems, or people frustrated with their own lives. Unfortunately, this is not the case. I see it on the faces everywhere I go speak. People need hope that one day they will live the life that Christ died to give them! They hope that one day they will be able to declare, “I am more through Jesus Christ.”

The Bible makes the following clear:

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10

The truth is that God never promised us an easy life. We aren’t promised to be rich, famous, and without difficulties to overcome. But we are his workmanship! No one is better or more skilled than God in creating things that are purposeful and important. Everything has its place in creation and is essential. In other words, we are more than what we think we are.

Too often we are faced with the dilemma of accepting our own lot in life or believing that our circumstances are preparation for greater things. When we think of the latter, our problems actually become springboards to greatness. Our limitations are the catalyst for creativity. Our struggles only serve to strengthen us. Our failures serve to guide us to success.

Don’t get discouraged. Don’t give up. Don’t feel as though you will never succeed. Through God we can be more than what we are now. Your breakthrough will come, not because of your own ability, but because God is with us!

We are more because of the Jesus who saved us!
