The joy of the Lord is my strength!

“Though the fig tree should not blossom,
nor fruit be on the vines,
the produce of the olive fail
and the fields yield no food,
the flock be cut off from the fold
and there be no herd in the stalls,
 yet I will rejoice in the Lord;
I will take joy in the God of my salvation.
God, the Lord, is my strength;
he makes my feet like the deer’s;
he makes me tread on my high places.”

–          Habakkuk 3:17-19

This verse has taken up a special meaning in my life lately. At night, I’ve been meditating on it and have come to realize (once again) that no matter what I might be going through at the moment, God is still good! No matter what happens, the Lord gives us joy through our salvation.

Problems, pain, rejection, and the bevy of bad things that come our way are temporary. Circumstances will not last forever! Our pain today will be a means for joy tomorrow!

I want to encourage you today. If you are suffering a bad marriage, a financial hardship, sickness, or something else equally as bad, I encourage you to contemplate on the above verse. Understand that God has a great plan for us and that he will see us through. Every great man and woman of God will pass through the valley, and with God we will ascend to the mountaintops!
